| Description | loctite 518 is a medium-strength, general-purpose surface sealant with excellent tolerance for contamination. Ideal for steel, cast iron and aluminum flanges. loctite® 518 cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces. The anaerobic surface sealing product is used for torsionally rigid cast iron, aluminum and steel flanges. loctite 518 can bridge gaps of up to 0.25 mm and forms a flexible, chemical-resistant and durable seal. Joints can be easily released even after prolonged use. Typical applications include sealing tight-fitting joints between torsionally rigid metallic sealing and flange surfaces. The product is also used for the production of surface seals on torsionally stiff flange joints, e.g. on gearbox and engine housings.
