LOCTITE LB 8040 is a special mineral oil for loosening rusted, corroded and seized parts. The shock freezing effect cools the parts down to -43°C within a very short time, and causes microscopically fine cracks to form in the rust layer. The capillary effect means that the lubricants within the product can penetrate directly into the rust layer. The product forms a thin film on the loosened parts which lubricates and prevents rust from forming.
