• Suitable for joining and surfacing of lamellar grey cast iron GJL10 - GJL 40, cast iron with spheroidal graphite (ductile iron) GJS 40 - GJS 70, malleable varieties GJMB 35 GJMB 65 as well as for joining these materials with each other or with steel and cast steel. Universally suitable for repair, manufacturing and construction welding.
• Welding characteristics:
Characterised by excellent application on cast iron. It has a stable arc and produces a flat seam structure without undercutting. In particular with fillet welds, an optimum seam structure is achieved (e.g. welding of GJS neck or GJS pipe flanges). The current carrying capacity and deposition rate are excellent thanks to the bimetallic core wire. The weld surface is smooth. The resulting weld is extremely crack resistant and easily machinable.
• Welding instructions: welding preferably with direct current (negative terminal) or alternating current. When welding with direct current (negative terminal), deep weld penetration is achieved. Welding with alternating current is advantageous for position welding (good weld build-up). Remove cast skin before welding. Move rod electrode vertically with a short arc. Crack sensitive cast iron weld metals can be hammered for the purpose of stress relief.
